On the 20th of July 2008 39 pupils and 4 staff will set off on Hockey Tour. We will be visiting Perth, Melbourne, Auckland and Sydney before returning through Dubai for an exciting end to the tour.
The tour has been designed to develop the girls' hockey through challenging matches and an exciting itinerary. As well as providing a wonderful sporting experience, the trip will give the girls the experience of being a part of a large, international sporting party - something special and always memorable.
The experience will develop their friendships, ambition, teamwork and attitudes. It will be hard work and thoroughly rewarding. It will give them an opportunity to see some dynamic and beautiful places, and make friends on the other side of the world
Within these pages we hope that you will find all the information that you require.
Many thanks for your interest in our tour.

A few words from people who have been there and done it:
It is always such a great experience to go abroad and play, especially the southern hemisphere as they play a very different style of hockey and the earlier you can be exposed to this the better it will make you as a player. My experiences of playing abroad have been great. I have been able to experience lots of different cultures and been able to travel the world doing what I love doing. All of these different experiences culminate to make you a better player as there are lots of little things that are slightly different than being in your home environment, these can be things like umpires, crowds etc. You come up against all sorts of unique circumstances when you are at major events and so all of the travelling abroad stands you in very good stead. Definitely one of my favourite places that I have travelled to is Australia so that is fantastic that you are able to go over there not just for the hockey experience but also for the country itself.

Dear Oundle Hockey Tour,
I wish you the very best on your tour of Australia and New Zealand. Touring offers a remarkable opportunity to develop your game but much more besides. You have an exciting itinerary and when you return you will have learned much about the countries and yourselves. I am sure you will treasure your memories and look back on your month away as one of hard work but also tremendous fun.
Enjoy yourselves!
